Fast Food Nations

Sometimes the blogs write themselves.

  • “There’s a really strong pull … to come to different countries. There is a growing familiarity outside the United States with Mexican food.” (Fast food exec in Bloomberg, Dec. 2015)
  • “They don’t always understand what the food is, or how to order the food, or what the ingredients are. Taco Bell takes the mystery out of it.” (same item)
  • In one generation the percentage of obese children in Shandong (China) province has grown from less than 1% of boys and 1.5% of girls to 17% of boys and about 9% of girls. (CNBC, April 2016)

Taco Bell is prepping its push into China where sister companies, KFC and Pizza Hut, are huge.
