If you’re ever in a below-average film or streaming series, and you beat the tar out of a guy, in a house, and you gaze down in both some shock as also a certain satisfaction upon an apparently thrashed, seemingly incapacitated intruder on the floor of a kitchen/bedroom/living room … don’t leave — do not leave — that house. Kneecap him. Tie him to the tailgate and drive ‘round the block a time or three. Don’t matter, and he won’t care about the niceties of difference. Call the cops, if you must, and wait. But don’t leave. If there’s a child/spouse/partner/pet with you and you’re worried, fine: make them safe, call your ex-/parents/in-laws to come get him/her/it. But do not leave the house. If you do, and you shd make it back, when you come back, the body will be gone.
