Don’t ask me for grace.
Not because I don’t want you to have it, for I certainly do.
But I can’t give it to you.
Only God can give you grace, of this I’m becoming certain.
Grace is
God’s action in our lives to accomplish what we
could never do on our own. Dallas Willard
which turns out to be anything, as we come to know daily.
And grace in scripture
is always from God.
When writers cite it, it’s God making all grace abound
In all his greetings, Saint Paul offers grace from God
Such things as hope and faith are by God’s grace …
Most certainly we are participants
We are called heirs of his grace and
We are certainly recipients of grace
even blessed to be conduits of it.
But it’s not from us — not from me.
So please stop asking
Can you give me a little grace here?
How ’bout some grace on this one?
Haven’t y’all ever heard of grace?
for, yes, I have heard.
And that word doesn’t mean what you think it means.
